I have a 56 plymouth and hi horn does not blow. I took it to a mechanic and he could only get a weak sound occasionally. The parts of the horn are riveted together. What do most owners do with a mal functioning horn? Leads, referrals, suggestions appreciated on what I should do.

Jerry: First off, you might find a horn on the internet. Here is a pair from a 56 Belvedere (but the high does work either):

I had issues with mine on my 56 Dodge and I fixed it by buying a new horn and swapping in the internals into my horn's shell:
