Location: Chattanooga | I am interested in acquiring custom emblems for my 1959 Chrysler Windsor. Does anyone know who I can contact to get some emblems made? I would prefer metal, but plastic would be OK. Would appreciate any leads on someone who can help me. |

Location: So. Cal | Die casting is the typical way to make the emblems. But if you go to a die caster and ask them to make an emblem for you, you will get the question: How many thousands of parts per year? They will churn out 5000 parts in 2 weeks and any less isn't worth the setup time for them and they typically don't want to waste time with parts that will only be made once. Also the die costs are around $15K. You get the picture. So making this from a 3D print is the way to go to avoid all that. You can get it done in brass or stainless, but the surface finish sucks so you will need to polish it afterward. Take that into account when you dimension it. Depending on how thick it is, you might be able to machine it too. Machining it is probably how I would do it.

But where do you get it 3D printed in brass or stainless? - SERGE -

Location: So. Cal | There are many places that can do it. Shapeways can do stainless and aluminum.

Stratasys, near me, can do it in Cobalt/Chrome alloy or Titanium as well as aluminum & stainless.

There are other companies as well, just do a search for them. I may have misspoke about using brass, but I thought I had seen some of them done in brass before. But not sure where I saw it. If not, they can 3D print in wax and then make a cast to build a brass part for sure. |

Location: Kalispell, MT USA | I am following with interest. My 64 880 has no external emblems that say 880. Only Dodge. The only 880 on the car is the glove box emblem. I was thinking about at least a set on the trunk lid opposite the Dodge script. Maybe a small set on the front fenders.
