| Hey everyone. I need some help deciphering the data plate for my 56 New Yorker Newport. The car is in decent shape, but I'm going to go through it and try and restore it to original as much as possible.
It's Body Code 42 which I believe indicates it being A 2 door Newport.
Options on the car:
Factory Air conditioning
Power Steering
Power Brakes
Power Front Seat
Power Windows
Hiway HiFi
Upgraded Radio.
Specifically I would like to know what paint code 431 means as I'm guessing it's supposed to be tu-tone (original owner repainted it one color )

Could you post the pictures of your car?
I’m interested in outside, inside, engine bay, trunk compartment, cowl tag and vehicle number pictures…
It might be very helpful for understanding and deciphering unknown codes….

| Oh, wow thank you so much that is exactly what my interior would look like if it was as nice as this one. When I bought it they had painted it Sand Dune Beige with a white top, and took off the hood emblem, and welded the letter holes shut. I have a new front facia with the letter holes to add in. I just need to find the front Chrysler letters for it. I'll try to get some pictures for you but am having trouble finding where to add pictures.

| Yeah, I will. I'm building a garage to house this project and it should be done in October. So I'll be making progress by the end of year. Thank you for all your help. |
