The power windows in my 58 Desoto have been working great. Tonight they will go down but not up. Because they will go down the switch must have power. What am I missing? Any ideas? Thanks AL

Is this true for all the windows, or just one door or quarter ? Have you tried both the gang-of-four on the driver's door as well as the individual switch on the door or quarter ?

Thanks Ron, yes it is for all 4 windows...just started on the way home last night. They all seem fine going down but will not go up. It must be switch related. Living on a gravel road..I guess all the bumps over time just loosed it off enough to not make a connection.

My guess is that the multi-connector has wiggled loose so that only the down contacts works. You should be able to pry out the master-switch and see what happened to the multi-connector.

This problem can often be traced to a broken wire due to flex when opening/closing the driver door. The metal wire could get broken in its insulating sleeve even without parting insulation.
