Moving on to things that I have previously ignored, I am thinking about fixing the bottom of the door gaskets on my 56 Dodge. I don't know where the thought came from but it was "Hey Dave, what about trying some of that new 0.030 welding wire that you bought for your Harbor Freight welder a couple of months ago. I bet you could bend some of that and make it work".

So, what do you think? I am sure that somebody else has already figured this out (Sven?) and done it?

I need to make something like this:

Since I don't drive during the winters, I decided to skip the wire. I only glued the weatherstrip with 3M. No problems. the wire will damage the paint, sooner or later and rust will be spread.
The modern glues are so much better, hence the wire is not needed.

I did the same as Sven on my '58, with a modern 3M glue.
No problems.
