I don't think they said that... they said it "newer, better and more salable than any time in the past"...
They did a ton of fixes for the 58 cars...
they also compared "generations" of cars together (the 3 year cycle)... you can spit hairs and say the 57 vs the 58... but they talk about the dart look and torsion bars and brakes just like they did in the 57...

At least '58 Chrysler also lengthened the leaf springs along with DeSoto.Old reports were that Chrysler engineering used incorrect data when creating the '57 model rear springs. The '57 spring length was a mistake.

In the Video they explain that the 58 year model has the biggest changes in history, I would say minor changes to the 57 modell, except the motor
To me the fact that they changed from the weak, heavy block with flexing cranks and heads, to the most reliable and sturdiest engine in automobile history, the "B", is enough change
