Does this mean that the old bloke has died and stuff has been sold off? |

Location: Perth Australia | I dont know, but I did contact the seller to ask about the VIN discrepancy, I dont think they wanted to know.
I think it would be a great car but I have to say, I would always be worried about its heritage because of the VIN.
I do wonder if there would be any way to find out the original number. My assumption is the tag got lost and replaced in the US and someone just put
the senaca tag on so it had a number to put on the paperwork before it was shipped over here. Pure speculation though.

But he'd had it a long time when I met him about twenty years ago. |

What, by the way, is the VIN discrepancy?
with a 410 vin# its not a true phoenix , no matter what the body is . in other words its a phoenix with a seneca vin tag ---------------------------------later |

Location: Perth Australia | Senaca VIN. I dont believe they made a senaca convertible.
The data tag looks to be correct, so I just suspect the Vin tag fell off and someone put the senaca one on.
I can imagine the hoops you would go through to try and change it if you found out the original number.
It could also have been re birthed before it came to Australia as I assume the number change would have happened before it was imported.
4 = Dodge 6
1 = Low line (Senaca)
0 = 1960
7 = St. Louis (MO)
So not correct for this car. Unless you found a build sheet stashed in it somewhere, I dont think it would be possible to find its factory number

Location: So. Cal | You may be right, Chuck. This could have started life as a Seneca coupe, and converted into a convertible. |

To be honest, I think very unlikely. The car does look completely factory.
Not hard to change a VIN tag
