In the near future I am going to be rewiring my 56 Windsor. I figure since I will have to pull the dash apart it would be a good time to have all the gauges gone through. Can anyone recommended a good gauge restoration place? It would be a plus if you have used them and can vouch for them. Thanks

Redline gauges, which is very close to me, restores them. But unfortunately, I can't recommend them. Most of their customers wait for ages before anything gets touched. I just go through them myself and thoroughly test them before re-installation. Make sure you ground them while you do that! If the face is damaged or discolored, you can have a sticker made up to cover it. I've never done that so I hope others can chime in on the best type of sticker to use for it. Then get orange-glow paint to re-paint the needle.

Try calling the number at this place in Milwaukee. I forget the gentleman's name, but after talking to him it did appear he knew what he was doing. Rather than restore my noisy 1956 Chrysler 300 150 mph speedometer, I sold it as-is. He did provide me with a speedometer gear adapter to recalibrate my speedometer to work with my new to the car 2.76 gears and that has worked very well so far.

JC Auto Restorations in Lynnwood WA has been doing gauge restos for years. Not cheap, but good work and very thorough. As with most of these things, a degree of patience is needed. They did the 300G cluster in my car.
