     Location: Los Angeles, California | Picture isnt the best but picked up this 1960 Desoto Fireflite coupe something I have wanted for 10 years thanks to John Fowlie. I think its original color was Adobe Rust? Optioned with Power Steering, Power brakes, padded dash, remote drivers side mirror, solex tinted glass, washer jets and bumper guards? Not sure if its a 361 or 383, has a 4 bbl carb but single exhaust.

G4 = order code 304 = Power Group No. 2 that includes:
Power Steering
Power Brakes
Electric Clock
Front and Rear Bumper Guards
Left Outside Rear View Mirror with Remote Control
V1 = order code 441 = Solex Tinted Glass – at all Windows
Y8 = order code 588 = Undercoating and Underhood Insulating Pad
SO 0301 = Scheduled on March 1, 1960 (It has 64th Birth Day today!!)
NUMBER 3024 = 24th Car Built That Day; each production day started at 3001 and up
BDY 712 = DeSoto (7) Fireflite Series (1) Two Door Hardtop (2)
TRIM 814 = Gray Vinyl and Gray Nylon Thread Fabric
PNT YY1 = Adobe Rust Color – Upper and Lower (WW), Single Tone Paint Scheme (1)
P.S. It’s a pity that your car has not optional wide roof mouldings (code 402) for $38.35;
I need to confirmation to my database this option on the data plate;
It should have “K2” code on it, I guess…

PNT YY1 = Adobe Rust Color – Upper and Lower (WW)
PNT YY1 = Adobe Rust Color – Upper and Lower (YY)
Of course, correct code YY1, not a WW1; sorry for misprint |

Find the engine number at the front of the block and compare it to the chart below. I am guessing 361 but .....

The rear backup lights are missing but the lighting clip plugs are there, has the dome lights, no parking brake warning light, blank plate. |

Can’t understand: Is there a wiring harness for the back-up lights?

You are right, Bill. These engines were standard.
Kelii said about 4BBL engine and single exhaust;
361 engine has not factory 4BBL option, so I think this car has 383CID 4BBL engine and Single Exhaust option, code 355:

The owner has to find the engine code stamped on the head/block:
P-36-8-3 for the 361 and
P-38-8-3 for the 383
