Charlie: I think that there were only two flavours of 56 Dodge driveshaft ("propeller shaft" in the parts book).
1. The one for the 6 cyl and small V8 cars that would have ball and trunions at both ends, i.e. PN 1554 919
2. The one for the larger V8 cars with overdrive manuals and/or Powerflite autos with ball and trunion at the
transmission end and cross and roller at the differential end, i.e. PN 1635 126
I could be wrong.
That said, I have two 56 Dodge V8 drive shafts and I have never seen a PN stamped on the shaft. It all comes down to
the type of U-joints involved.
