Desert Valley

OK maybe this isn't the place for this. Ok I'll pay a fair price for stuff. Desert Valley has a couple of '60 Fury's in not so good complete, not much left. The one I contacted them about has a car sitting on top of it, has the engine- 6 banger, no windshield, has a seat bottom sticking out of the windshield over the engine. As I said I will happily pay fair prices. But when a car looks like it's next step is a crusher maybe they wont charge a premium for hard to get or rare. No way in hell. This is the exact cost's I received.

Note for the trunk floor, I only need a small section of the right. It is around 28" by 22" or so. The drop down. From the right rear wheel opening, about 2" back, and about 5-6" above chrome trim line down to the bottom at the body lip. Yeah the entire trunk seal are. I know where there is a car I can buy, but would not be worth it to me simply because it is a 4dr and only a couple things I need and wrong windshield but I can get the car for $1,200.00 plus shipping of about $500.00. Note the prices I received do not include shipping so I bet that would be around $100-200.00 don't know.

Here are the prices and maybe someone can correct me if I think they are completely out of line. As for the trunk floor I can buy an entire new stamped one from $200.00-$240.00 the whole thing.

Here it is:

Hi,

Full seal area $450.00 trunk drop section $325.00

If you need the trunk floor $800.00

Watertown, N.Y.?

A few years ago, someone told me about an old salvage yard in Watertown, N.Y. I was towing my boat up to the Canadian border and passed though Watertown. I stopped in for a minute. The person that told me about it said not to tell anyone but that was several years ago and all these cars if still there are just being wasted. I didn't have time to look around but it looked like back behind the barn, there were mowed rows with old cars buried in the weeds. Anyone know this place and is it still there?

Funny thing was when I parked out front, a guy came out and said I think I passed you a 100 miles back near Binghamton. Was that you. I love when people ask that. No, there are probably a 100 gold 1960 Plymouth Suburbans towing boats around here.
I was 8 hrs from home in Canada Came home and someone from my town said he saw a car just like mine in Canada. Really ?

Spent about 3 hrs wandering- Found a few really good parts for my 61 Chrysler. Unfortunately, their Forward Look stock is down quite a bit from when I was there a year ot two ago. There was a nice black 61 New Yorker and a complete 61 Newport except for the glass. The New Yorker is gone and the Newport is pretty much gone.
My son grabbed two 61 horns that he plans to install in his SL500- not sure why ??
There are two 62 New Yorker 4 dr Hardtops with what looks like all the parts for AC.

Bo's Salvage, Duncan, OK

just got back from there. Bo has exactly two Forward Looks BUT one of them is a Royal Lancer TWO-DOOR HARDTOP!
Yes, it actually has the "Royal Lancer" name badges on the front fender. It's either a '55 or '56 - dang sure not a '57 or later. I really think it's a '56 'cuz it didn't have the tiny chrome fins riding atop the rear fenders......?
Almost all the glass is gone, grill is gone and part of the instrumentation has been pirated but all body panels were present and seemed pretty rust free. The driver's door has a crease but it's not horrible.
The second forward look is '59 Dodge four door sedan that has been mostly stripped of it's chrome but body panels are present and rust-free plus the glass seemed all intact.
Bo is a Ford guy so if you contact him he might not remember the Dodges. Tell him they are north and just a little bit to the east of the two 1964/1965 Falcon Rancheros that sit right behind one another and north of the shop buildings.
I'm going back there tomorrow to pull a master cylinder, proportioning valve and brake lines off a '71 Ford van to do a dual reservoir conversion on my '64 Fairlane so if you have any ???s 'bout the Forward Looks PM me tonight and I'll try to get answers for you when I go back.
I won't post Bo's number online but he's listed in the phone book.
His yard is located on Gatlin Road between Duncan and Marlow, OK.
Take Highway 81 south of Marlow (continue south through the flashing lights at the Highway Seven junction) or take 81 north of Duncan (past Osage Road).
Look for Gatlin Road. You can't miss it. It is marked "Gatlin Road" plus the old but restored Gatlin school building and gym are located at the intersection.
Go east on Gatlin.
Go over the railroad tracks and continue east through the intersection just beside the tracks.
You will come to a second section line.
Continue east but start looking to your right for Bo's hand made and small 'Bo's Salvage' sign.
Bo's house is there and the salvage is south of the house.
He has a few old cars (black four door '59 Buick for one) beside his house.
Bo's a nice guy but not a sucker or a rube. A guy named Marvin helps him the run place and the two of them together are sharp as razors. Ya'll treat them with respect and you'll be treated with the same. Bo's prices are darned fair. I'm 99.9% sure he doesn't ship anything.

Goodro Auto Salvage - Scottsbluff, NE

Just came across Goodro Auto Salvage in Scottsbluff, NE - lots of old cars (late 20s to present), but not a ton of Forward Look stuff. Saw a 1957 Dodge 4 door sedan that had a lot of parts left and he has a few 56 Dodges that had useable parts. Owners name is Leon (most people call him Buck) and he’s great to deal with. He actually likes people to walk around his yard which is a rarity these days. His main interest is Fords.
