Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | 16 years ago[darn, 16 years!] when I bought my 1960 Plymouth Suburban, I found a bunch of items from previous owners in the glove box. I couldn't track down the original owner but at 15,000 miles in 1961, I believe the 2nd owner bought it.
There is a warranty card from Wm.A Gehmon & Sons Emmaus , Pa. I Ebayed the name and found this brass plate.
2 questions,
1. I paid $20 for it and was told that I paid way too much. Honestly, I was thrilled to find it and probably would have paid more. Do you think it was too much?
2. As I recall from when I looked in there, there were 2 holes filled in the tailgate. IF they line up, would you drill them out and put a plate on your car even though it may have not be from where it was originally sold?

Location: California | I think it’s a nice emblem, but It does have the older style Chrysler and Plymouth logos. Plymouth’s symbol in 1960 was an abstract rocket.
Personally I don’t care for dealer emblems drilled and put onto cars. If I bought a Forward Look new I’d be sure they didn’t slap one onto it or i would buy elsewhere, but that’s just my opinion. If you like it then use it.
I don’t think $20 was too much. If I saw one that had the Forward Look logo on it I’d probably buy it just to hang on the wall. |

Location: Southern Sweden - Sturkö island | I think that it's from the forties or fifties, so I wouldn't mount it on the car. Very nice at a good price |

Location: Valley Forge, Pa. | That's funny. I was so fascinated by the piece that I didn't even think about the logo.
Oh well, it's not going on my car but I still like it. I don't think I would have mounted it on the body even if it was correct.
Probably would have mounted it on a licence bracket some how.
Maybe on the front. We're lucky in Pa. I believe we are one of few states that don't use a front plate. |
