If the car was built in Los Angeles the prefix would be W57L-. Canadian production (model C75-2) still had the 8 digit sequential number for one last year and started at 99,728,401. The last Detroit Windsor was W57-44450, 43,450 built. The LA plant built 4,120 Windsors. The "0709" would be the Scheduled Build Date - July 9, 1957. The car was built in the U.S., so it is month-day, not day-month. Interesting thing about the car, being built so late in the model year, is that it has single headlamps.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 378 Location: hampton mn | This car is cool. Does it have non-stock side chrome? My 57 Windsor has a thin loop, not a straight piece. My seats had a different pattern too. Was there different trim levels on the Windsors?

Expert Posts: 1488 Location: Florida | I'm guessing the upholstery is not original. The vinyl on the upper portion of the seatbacks should have horizontal embossed lines to match the door and interior side panels. I don't know about the particular fabric used. Chrysler used some odd fabrics in these cars. The pic below is an NOS sample of the "vinyl-lumps-deposited-onto-cloth" of what is in my '57 Windsor Town & Country wagon. The clock, in chrome, was also likely added later - From what I've read here, 1957s were painted and 1958s had chrome. Is that true?
