I needed an adapter to mount a newer open style airfilter housing onto the 'old' carter carb currently in my '57 Chrysler.

I found an old timing chain sprocket, did some eyeballing and ran it on my lathe to turn it into a perfect aluminium adapter ring.
Lesson: Never throw away your old and worn car-parts...

Wow! Good use of an old part. Never would have thought of doing that, but it makes sense.

I don't have that type of thinking power to look at a problem and come up with a solution, no access to a lathe to make it happen!
