It has the full-boogie Spring Special trim on it; grille emblem (but not the rare painted headlight doors), side trim, fin-ends, and rear license plate "escutcheon"(as it was called)...each item was individually optionally available, at the dealership, and/or, apparently, from the factory. The interior color indicates that the car was not upholstered (and , probably?? not painted) in the Spring Special color schemes. It does not have the Custom Coronet interior motif option, unfortunately, but does have the optional front bumper 'teeth' (which was an option on every model, including the CRL's, in 1958), but, no OEM radio, so, this car has some strange outfitting, if this is the way that it left the factory. I think that this car is 'worth' $7.5K-$8.5K, as is (a driver!)... Edited by d500neil 2010-06-01 3:55 PM

Location: The Mile High City | What is that telephone doing in there?!?! If that baby works, it is awesome! If it is rotary dial and somehow still works - even better. This one generated a bit of talk in the "cars for sale" forum. It is good to see more photographs. I like the car.

A lot of people are word-searching the EvilPay for 'Rat Rod' items; that's why you'll also see "NOT-(whatever)" in an item's listing--the 'whatever' will show up on a search for that item. This car, being a Club Coupe, painted in flatish-black, meets the criteria for a Rat-Rodder's interests.

Extreme Veteran Posts: 475 Location: Las Vegas, NV | I've got no problem with the term, or with the cars. It's just that I think a lot of people are misusing the word. Here is a perfect example of what I mean. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1975-CHEVY-454-HOT-RAT-ROD-CAR-HAULE... Isn't a rat rod supposed to be a car that is not a trailer queen? From what I gather, a big part of the whole rat rod philosophy is a kind of a rejection of the billet equipped, "perfect" street rods that are trailered to shows rather than driven, yet here is someone selling a vehicle for hauling your "rat rod." Or is he actually calling this 75 flatbed a rat rod? Isn't it about 40 years too young and way too shiny to be a rat rod? Either way, I don't think he gets it. And as far as this Coronet is concerned, I would think it's about 20 years too young, and not rod enough or custom enough to fit the category. Am I wrong? Maybe there is a true rat rodder on the forum who can enlighten me. Edited by spider89119 2010-06-02 8:48 PM
