What are people doing to replace the curved hose from the heater control valve to the bottom of the heater box? Does an LA V8 bypass hose work?

I don't know the answer but please post if you find a solution. I think the bypass hose you are referencing might just work. Here is a screen shot of a napa hose that I had kept for reference to use a bypass on a poly motor.

what size is that hose? It looks like it might be just the ticket.

Not exactly sure . . . . I did a quick search of Napa and some conversions and I think it is around 5/8's. I've had the image saved in my '56 Plymouth files for a couple of years but I don't remember if it was for the heater or manifold bypass.

Digging around on the interweb, it looks like a Gates 18701 would work and be a little cheaper than the NAPA hose. Applications are a crap load of '90s to early 2000s Hondas.
The NAPA cross reference for that Gates hose is NBH 10701 and it's less than half the price of the NBH 11129.

Awesome 71charger_fan. If you pick up the Gates 18701 and it works, would please post back and let us all know.

Yes please.n(I'm taking notes).

I think that the Plymouth hose would be the same that I would need for my 56 Dodge. (You can just see that U-bend under the other two heater hoses at the heater core box)

I picked up the NAPA NBH 10701 hose on Friday, but still haven't done anything with it. Maybe tomorrow.

I finally pulled out my old curved hose today. The NAPA hose I picked up works fine with some trimming of its length. I could trim it a little more, but it's fine the way it is.

I almost bought a silicone u-bend, but, after reading up on silicone hose on the internet and the troubles people seem to have with seepage, I instead found a rubber hose that would work.
