Of course Christine is the number one choice,but my vote goes for the 1959 Dodge...it looks like it's been having a bad day ...or perhaps heard a disparaging clown comparison...and you'd best leave it alone! Expert 5K+ Posts: 7206 Location: Victoria, BC, on Vancouver Island, Canada | This photo was taken in around January, 1976 - I had owned the Polara for about 15 months, was driving home one day when a guy backed out of his driveway in front of me. The headlight pot disintegrated as it was very rusty and had been given a quickie bondo job at some point before I bought the car. The chrome headlight door flew off and landed on the ground, undamaged. The insurance company looked after it all - the bumper got straightened and replated I got an NOS park light housing and lens, the stainless steel strip and panel above the bumper got straightened out and polished and is still on the car today. The fender was toast, and this was really the only serious rust on the car = both front fenders over the headlights. I managed to get two rust free fenders from Arizona. At the time, my sister-in-law's parents used to winter in Apache Junction and so I wrote him and asked him to see if he could find any fenders for me in area auto wreckers. He found good ones within a few days, and carried them on his roof rack back to BC for me, on top of a 1966 Meteor Montcalm four door hardtop. The insurance company paid for one of them plus paid my sister in law's father for carrying them here. The car is now owned by my good friend Ron Wenzel, bottom photo. PS - the fenders were $35.00 each from the auto wrecker... which seems cheap even for 1976 standards. And what's the little running light on the left side about? Presumably there is an identical light on the right side that is not visible in the picture. I've never seen this light before on a wagon. Was that an option for Chrysler or something dreamed up by the customiser?

I wonder if the structure of the airport limo could be part of the explanation.. It might have been "moved" in the yard by a bulldozer at some point too I guess. Hope you had a good adjuster It took you quite a while to get up the courage to post this one! - but we've all done things we'd rather not let anyone know about. I backed my newly chromed rear bumper against a stationery object in April..... took me a month and nearly $600.00 to get it straightened, re-plated and back on the car. I got it back from the shop, the first time, in 2 weeks and when I bolted it on the plating started to peel around the bolts. I took it right back and the shop admitted it must not have been cleaned properly between the nickel and chrome plating steps. Another 2 weeks and I had it back again, that time it was fine. It's not the only rear bumper I've done that to..... I once backed my 1962 300 into a fire hydrant in a mall parking lot.  Edited by imopar380 2010-11-08 2:16 PM | ||

This same body shop was able to pound-out the dent (good quality long-ago rechroming work) so that you can barely see the outline of that impact impression, and the chrome surface is fine on the bumper. This is what happens to our cars when we use them as drivers - but we have the satisfaction of driving them - they ain't trailer queens, and we're not afraid of things like this, we get back on our feet, get 'em repaired, and keep driving. The stationery object I backed the Saratoga into was the front bumper guard of a late model Chebby 3/4 ton pickup.... no damage at all to that one  | ||
