Expert 5K+ Posts: 9900     Location: Lower Mainland BC | I contacted a guy supposedly trying to sell some 56 Dodge Custom Royal parts on kijiji (similar to Craigslist but in Canada). I said that I was interested in some of the taillight things (all I really want is the 1658454 lenses) and offered him reasonable money for complete (pitted) taillight assemblies that he will never sell to anybody else. He comes back with: " I think I'm goin to pass I don't really need to sell stuff that bad if u could see my place ud understand and it's a hassle to pack and ship sorry".  So I assume that somebody with a 7/16 wrench/socket and cash could score what I want because he is too lazy to take them off and pop them into a box and mail them to me. I changed my offer to just the two red lenses in one small box. I haven't heard back. If somebody is near by, e.g. in London, and had the time, I would appreciate the help. I can compensate with gas and/or beer money.   | ||

He doesn't want to sell me the taillights for what I was offering because "I wanted to sell the rear quarters all as one because once the lights are gone I might as well junk them. I'm sell Ingersoll both rear quarters for 160 for the pair". These are the rear quarters, actually more like rear "eighths" since the bottom of the quarters have returned to the earth from which they were once mined as iron ore (pity the 56 Dodge owner who thinks these piece are better than what they have). Expert 5K+ Posts: 9900 Location: Lower Mainland BC | Over the course of several emails last night the seller first said, yes I could have just lenses, then later he was back to no, that he was selling the "1/4" panels to rat rodders, and then finally that I could have the taillights but only if I bought all four assemblies. At the point, I suggested that he had changed his mind too many times and that I no longer trusted him (to send the goods after receiving my money). I told him to tell the rat rodders (who apparently wanted the tops of the fenders and the taillights for some sad creation) that they had won, I was out. So, I am still in the market for at least one 1658454 56 Custom Royal smooth-inside red taillight lens. I have one smooth 56 one and three pebbly finish 55 (and early 56?) Custom Royal lenses. I just need one smooth one. I just got a notice that I have a parcel from John at Big M that will contain the proper 56 taillight 2 pin sockets and a few other goodies (John didn't have any lenses - I asked). So I will be able to move on with the taillight project. I also ordered a license plate surround that has 14 high power white LEDs to function as my back-up light. In the short run, I will use one of the pebbly finish lenses to finish the taillight project until I can score a smooth finish lens. Back to the inside door restoration and improvement this afternoon. | ||
