My mint green original painted CRL is getting the bodywork done in preparation for paint. The painter prefers two stage paint which is fine with me. PPG claimed to have the paint code but what they mixed for color sample is no where near correct. What have others found to work? Thanks Paul

Could be this Mint Green metallic, Paul? You may custom mix the paint.  - SERGE -

Mint is different than that.

The first sheet that Dave posted looks very correct. At least it matches the paint on my car and others I have seen.

Never had much luck with original paint codes, are there any paint shops about that you could borrow some paint chips from and go through them yourself, a lot of the straight colours are available as RAL,

Most good paint shops these days can simply computer match the paint to what is on your car, without needing any paint codes. One of my cars has a non-stock color on it, I have no idea what it is. Plus the paint is 20+ years old, and likely faded a little from when it was fresh. Recently it developed rust bubbles in the bottom of one of the doors. The shop cut out rust, put new metal in, and repainted the bottom half of the door below the trim piece. Looks perfect.

Thanks for the input. We found Matrixx has the exact color match of the Mint Green for 1958 Dodge. My car had been "restored" in the early 90s and stripped, so computer match wasn't for sure. We did the computer match on the 1960 Petal Pink Windsor convertible using the trim removed windshield pillar. I agree, not much luck with paint codes these days for the two stage painting.
