I presume that the factory used chrome trim screws because a) chrome anything was "cool" man cool in the 1950's and b) it meant that they didn't have to have a bunch of different colored screws to suit each and every color interior colour combo. However, as I put my A- and B-pillar covers back on (and the upper interior door trim for that matter), I am very tempted to paint the trim screws to match the trim that they are attaching to the car. I have a box of new chrome screws so that isn't an issue per se. It's just that I think I might prefer trim screws that are painted trim colour and fade into the woodwork (so to speak).

I won't likely do anything soon but it might be a "next year" change.

Paint would look a little better if you want to hide the screws more, but it will chip off the first time you mess with them too.
