I have the powerflite pushbutton tranny in my 56 regent that I am restoring. I have a new gasket and seal kit for the transmission, and I thought I would give it a "refresh" before reinstalling it behind my rebuilt flat head 6.
The transmission was working fine before, but I'm pretty sure it hasn't been touched in a long long time; hence the decision to at the very least do the seal and gasket set while it is already out of the car.
I have never touched a powerflite before, and I was hoping to find a thread that shows how to go about installing these gaskets and seals.
I do have the factory shop manual to follow, but I was hoping to hear some tricks and tips from people on here who have done this before.
Please feel frre to share advice/tips gents and ladies!

Are going into the trans or external seals and gaskets?

If the extension housing gasket is ok, I would leave it alone. The input shaft sealing rings should be replaced. Adjust both bands while the pan is down, reverse can be gotten to then. Dexron 111 fluid, drain the convertor also, about 11 quarts total with the convertor empty, shop manual is good to have of course.
