Expert 5K+ Posts: 9899 Location: Lower Mainland BC | Ha!! 10K off. He's missing the rubber boot on the throttle lever where it enters/leaves the drivers footwell. Tsk. Tsk. Furthermore, I wonder how the Paint Code PNT "A" corresponds to reality. It looks more "W" Indian Turquoise

The data tag is strange: PNT scheme A - it seems like a jet black car would be AAA. Based on the images I expected to see Vs and Ws. Edited by Lancer Mike 2018-04-27 11:06 PM

Expert Posts: 3575 Location: Netherlands | Nicely detailed restored car. Few points of distraction for me are the seemingly mismatched bodypaint and interior colors. I would've tried to match the bodypaint better to the interior color. Seeing paint residue on door seals. Doors being closed while paint was still curing? The roof 'container'-fabric in the trunk looks original, but therefore also now a bit 'shabby' compared to the rest of the car's condition.

Elite Veteran Posts: 977 Location: Sydney, Australia | Listing has ended. Very nice car indeed and better than anything I own. Would make my neck twist if it drove by. Even if not using the correct trim, what would be the cost to source a convertible and restore it to this condition(judging by photos)? Edited by matte 2018-04-28 6:02 PM

Expert Posts: 2524 Location: Houston | Pretty much any 57 NY convert is a beautiful car.... The colors are funky IMO....if it's original, not a color I like. If it's a repaint to non-original, I wonder why they chose that color....?

Thanks for that. I figured "A" was black but I didn't see it on the colour chart. After reading what you said, I went back and looked at the chart. There it is, at the bottom of the chart, in "fine print" (now circled in red), A = Jet Black and with no second or third letters, *ALL* black. Expert Posts: 3155 Location: NY & VT | Black NYer FL verts are really rare, I had a '58 and have never seen another, and I believe mine with a Spruce interior may have been 1 of 1. It's in Sweden now, I sold it to Ron Wenger of PA, and he sold it on to Sweden. I like this '57, $81k from RM seems like a very decent price, if the resto looks as good in person as it does in pics he got a great deal, color aside. That seat fabric looks familiar... off a DeSoto or another year Chrysler? Edited by firedome 2018-04-29 5:58 PM Attachments ---------------- 58NYvert2.jpeg (206KB - 113 downloads)
