Hi all!

I am in the need of replacing the windshield on my 1955 Dodge Custom Royal Lancer convertible and looking for a good vendor for the windshield gasket. Came across "Steel Rubber Products" https://www.steelerubber.com/search?year=1955&make=dodge&model=custo... Has any one used this gasket? Is there another vendor out there who makes a good gasket with the formed ends?

Also looking for a windshield, Mine is not cracked but is delaminating around all the edges & looks bad,

Thanks in advance

I used the Steele gasket on my '56 Plymouth 2-door hardtop, and it fit perfectly. I replaced the windshield at the same time. The back window was a different story, but I never determined if it was a seal design problem, or the car body.

Thanks for the input Gary. Just wanted to see if anyone has used them before I ordered the gasket.

Are there any issues or suggestions on removing & installing the windshield? Did you use a new or replacement unit?

Thanks!

My old windshield was smashed and the old seal was in bad shape so I just cut it out. The replacement was new from Bob's Classic Auto Glass, and I think it was a bit less than $300 plus shipping.

I was having so much trouble with my rear glass, that I had a professional come out to help install it. We fought it for a couple of hours before it finally fit. When we finished that job, we had the windshield installed in a few minutes. He could have easily installed it by himself, and as easy as the windshield went in I think I could have done it alone, but it was so much easier with two of us working.

You are fortunate not having to worry about installing a rear glass!
