Location: central Illinois		The topic of fan clutches has come up repeatedly and the current recommendation seems to be the Hayden 2765. In fact I'm running one on my 69 Coronet R/T. It has a shallow offset to allow clearance between the fan and radiator. I do however have a problem with the 440 running hot (but not boiling) after driving for over 20 minutes.

I was reading the Dec. 2017 issue of Mopar Action (yes it's back in publication!) and the engineer Richard Ehrenberg addresses the Hayden 2765 as a "sleazy Jaguar clutch which was the thinnest available". He states it is " designed for a much smaller and lighter blade, causing the clutch's fluid to overheat and slip (thereby freewheeling the fan). Now Hayden has released a specific HD thermal-control fan clutch for this problem, we got one at a super price from Rock Auto. The P/N is 2947". He also states that Ma Mopar called the clutch fan setups "Silent Flite".

He then has a picture showing "it has an offset of a scant 1 1/8".

I post this to open the possibility that the 2947 is a better alternative to the 2765.

Location: Under the X in Texas		Good post, thanks. I also have a '69 Coronet R/T 440 car. With the standard 26" radiator though, this has always been the coolest running car I own and now starting its 15 year in my barn and I'm in south Texas on top of that.
