Subject: Decode 1959 dodge Super D-500 tag

Location: Chattanooga		I am going to look at a 1959 Dodge that the seller claims is a factory Super D-500 car. How can I tell by looking at the fender tag if it really is a Super D-500 car?

I think every dodge made was a Super D500 lol. I'm the only person in the world that doesn't own a Super D500 59 Dodge convertible.

That yellow 59 ain't a Super D500. It's weird how these cars can be called that based off emblems and a motor being shoved in from another platform. They call them SD500 with zero proof and expect people to bring mountains of proof to disprove their unprovable statement. So weird.

Location: little rock, AR		The engine code will be ML 383 under the distributor. But thats easily forged.

59 Desoto FD/FF engines also stamped ML383. So engine swap.

Car should be considered a 'made' car unless is comes with a FCA build sheet to prove its authenticity.

Location: Chattanooga		Unfortunately, one more seller who thinks slapping dual carburetors on a 326 makes it a Super D-500. Don’t need to decode tag to see that.
