maybe it's a stupid question but...what is the correct flasher for the 56 chrysler?
I have number 537 (not works) 3 prong flasher, but I have 3 prong socket with 2 wires (like a pic).
All 2 prong flashers have prongs in position 2,3. What is correct? do I miss one wire?

What is the difference between 537 and 550?

Can't tell you the difference between a 550 and a 537 but I can suggest that you need a 3 prong flasher based on the 56 Dodge wiring diagram below. One wire goes to the flasher from the ignition switch, one wire goes to the flasher indicator bulb and one wire goes to the directional signal light mechanism under the steering wheel. (I would think that the 56 Chrysler would be very much the same).

I have 3 prong 550 in my 56 Dodge glove box that I removed when I went to LED taillight bulbs and needed a 3 prong electronic flasher to make things work properly.

ok, the diagram for Chrysler is a little different. 2 wires are correct, the 3 prong socket is also correct.
I have temporarily connected 2 prong flasher, it works fine.

The 3-prong flasher is used where there is only a single-bulb turn indicator on the dash, the third prong powers the indicator lamp.

Where there are two separate (left/right) turn indicators on the dash, the turn signal switch sends power to the appropriate lamp.
