1408284 or 1408 284 doesn't show up in the 55-58 Mopar Parts Catalogue as a separate item. However, the strainer assembly 862 831 does show up as the oil strainer assembly for 55-56 Plymouth and Dodge 6 and 8 cylinder engines. Searching for "862831 oil strainer" gets a few hits, including these:

Sorry. Your statement wasn't that clear, as in "I need the strainer screen and dipstick for my 55 PowerFlite automatic transmission".

Regardless, your number still doesn't work. As far as I can tell, the PowerFlite Strainer is 1619 366. I got no hits on 1619366 with vendors (including eBay and RockAuto) but it lit up this pdf:

http://www.jholst.net/61-parts-manual/transmission.pdf

On page 24/44, PN 1619 366 shows up in Section 21-117-1 as the strainer for a 1961 Plymouth transmission. So that could be a lead to follow.
