Hey Guys, The vac advance diaphram failed in my 65 Chry N Y 413. Napa can't get the correct one. I refuse to pay $200 on line and then get my computer hacked in the process. Anyone have a vac adv unit that still holds vac ? I checked with Summit and they don't carry any. But they do have a choice of electronic dist's available, reasonably priced. One is a Proform electronic dist. $135 The other is a Summit electronic dist Sum850005-1 for $180. Is anyone familiar with either of these dist's ? Any help would be appreciated. Thanks, Jerry

Summit sells a remanufactured electronic distributor for $40 + $30 core charge.

Or a new one for $70

Both are through Cardone. Personally, I would go with the remanufactured one, but I don't have much experience with either of them. Also, the $30 core charge would make it about the same price, but at least you would get an original casting for the housing. You can get these exact same distributors through your auto parts store too, but they now charge more for them. They used to offer them at this same price, but recently increased their prices on them.

Powerflite, thanks for the info ! I called Napa again and they deal with A1 Cardone and can get me a replacement point style dist. so I can put my Pertronix kit in it. Didn't want to go thru the whole electronic sys rewire. $100 and dist coming out of Texas. Seems like a shame I have to buy a complete dist just because a failed vac adv. unit. thanks again ! Jerry
