Hey Guys,

I have the later 8 3/4 diff and drum brakes from a 60's Dodge in my 58. My left rear has a jingling/tick sound when driving along and pretty sure it's still there when braking(Only hear it when the sounds has something to bounce back from). I've raised the car and turned the wheel and spins freely and the noise is not present. The only thing I feel that is loose is the "Park brake link" which is not used anymore because I have the park brake drum on the transmission.

My question is, can I remove the link permanently or does it serve as something else as well? Any input would be appreciated. Diagram not a Chrysler but shows the link...

Removing the link only would allow the parking brake lever to float around, I would remove the lever also.
