The Offenhauser ones show up from time to time. There is one on EPay now:

https://www.ebay.com/itm/OFFENHAUSER-315-325ci-DODGE-BABY-HEMI-2x4-I...

I have as of yet not been able to confirm it, but it is rumored that Dodge used the Offenhauser on the Super D-500.

Yes, but it had a Mopar part number on it too. If you search these forums, you will find it with info posted by Neil.

Edit: But I believe it was for the D500-1 cars in '56, not the super D500 in '57.

Here is a photo that might support that rumour. But, who knows for sure??---- !

According to the thread below, which has factory documentation, the 56 D500-1 intakes were built by Carl Kiekhaefer and did carry a MoPar part number. I have seen several supposed 57 Super D-500s with the Offenhauser manifold, but none with documentation that they are real Super D's. And at least one of these was later proven to not be real. I also have yet to see a 315/325 Offenhauser manifold with a Chrysler P/N on it. I have a hard time believing that Chrysler would put a part number on a very limited race only part and then not put one on a production option.

Years ago 20-30 I used to see these at almost every swap meet, None with air cleaners. the intakes, iron or alloy all had the DPCD and a part number. I believe in1956 they offered a magnesium intake. I bet it was fun during an engine fire!

Pretty sure what you saw were 57-58 318 poly dual quad manifolds. They are relatively plentiful. I have yet to see a 325 poly dual quad manifold with a Chrysler part number on it. If someone has one, let's see it!

Dual quad manifolds tend to survive even if the cars and motors don't. Even in the '70's and '80's, people were smart enough to keep those manifolds around, if for nothing else but to sell to someone else. The only one I have seen is the '56 D500-1 intake. And yet, Mopar surely did produce super D500 cars in '57. So what manifold did they use for them? If we can't produce a mopar manifold for them, the only conclusion is that they must have employed Offenhauser to make them. But I agree that it is odd for it to occur that way - especially without a Mopar part number of some kind placed on them.
