Hi,

I have mounted an additional electric fan in my NY and it should be connected. It should run automatically via a thermostat, but I also want to be able to turn it on manually. A switch on the dashboard - but please in the original design and not aftermarket. My speedometer has only Domlight and Maplight as switches , the switches for Antenna and Rearfan are blind . In the US there are certainly used switches at Igay on the Internet - not in Germany.
I bought a suitable new plastic switch. There are many switches to pull , but I wanted one to turn - that is already rarer. This is with two steps, there are certainly also some with one step. It fits behind the chrome ring, I had to grind the grommet a little flat on one side. I put it instead of the antenna switch. The thread remained. The rotary pin I also had to grind a little flat. This pin is unfortunately hollow inside. For better stability I filled in some glue.
For screwing on the outside the original chrome ring (same thread) fit. And the original chrome knob then fit onto the stabilized pivot pin.
Cable connected and led to a relay. The relay then supplies the electric fan. Looks good, works fine - as if it were original.
Roger
