| Hello everyone. I was trying to remove my door panel on my 58 Desoto Firedome but couldn't remove the window crank or the door handle. I was using a 60s 70s style handle removal tool without luck. Any advice? The repair manual shows a special removal tool. If that's the only way, where can I find one? Thanks Carl |

Location: Connecticut | The KD-435 door handle remover shows up on ebay frequently. 50-65 dollar range. You can also have a tool made up from scratch, which will kind-of work, but not as good as the tool. Do a search of this forum for 'door handle removal', and you'll find dozens of threads on this topic. Ron |

This thread has the hints you need, both with and without the special KD-435 tool.

| screw drivers work fine. bend a flat head slightly if you want to make that tool. Its that easy. or a butter knife. the issue is you need to put pressure on the opposite side also as you release the clip and that is what makes it pop off. https://youtu.be/sorlPtAIlSs?t=431
