Expert 5K+ Posts: 9664 Location: So. Cal | I pulled this from the trunk of my 300C. Anyone know what it is? It has 3 electrical connections on it, and a drive thing coming out the side with 3 ports on the top. Compare with the photo below (Motor_drive_unit-rez.jpg) (IMG_1968-rez.jpg) Attachments ---------------- Motor_drive_unit-rez.jpg (187KB - 198 downloads) IMG_1968-rez.jpg (159KB - 205 downloads)

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9664 Location: So. Cal | Here are more parts I am not familiar with from the trunk of my 300C. Do these go near the front grill somewhere maybe? The thin one is stamped sheet metal with staples all along it, while the wide one is a hard cardboard stuff, but more firm and better quality than the stuff you typically find under the dash of these cars. It reminds me of the cover used on the back of a VW dash. Edited by Powerflite 2018-10-09 11:49 AM (300C Parts Maybe.jpg) Attachments ---------------- 300C Parts Maybe.jpg (90KB - 206 downloads)

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9664 Location: So. Cal | The last parts turn out to be covers that go over the rear window regulator openings on the inside. I have no idea what that little bracket is used for. What is really odd though, is that NONE of my other cars came with this cover on them. Were the 300's the only ones to use these coverings? It could be a power window only part, but my black/white '57 New Yorker has power windows and doesn't have these on it either.

Expert Posts: 2289 Location: Eastern Iowa | The panels are for the 2 dr coupes like the 300's My C and D both utilize these parts as did the 57 NY'er coupe I parted years ago

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9664 Location: So. Cal | My two '57 Windsors were untouched when I purchased them. Neither one had these on them. None of my '57 New Yorkers has them either, and neither does my '58. My 300D didn't have them either, but no surprise because that one was missing a lot of stuff. I haven't checked the DeSoto yet, but this is the first time I have seen them. What is the bracket on them used for?

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9664 Location: So. Cal | There is a pair of electric window regulators in my trunk with part numbers 1770022, WLB-4026R and 1770023, WLB-4026L. I've looked to figure out what these go to but am unable to find a listing for them. Anyone know? Edited by Powerflite 2019-01-19 4:11 PM

Veteran Posts: 145 | Those are the rears for 57 & 58 two door hardtops. If you don't have a need for them, I am in desperate need for a 1770023.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9664 Location: So. Cal | Thanks, but it doesn't seem to fit my door mount. Were the electric mounting points different than the manual? Also, the parts list uses a different part number for the 2dr '57-'59 application. Edited by Powerflite 2019-01-20 1:11 AM

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9664 Location: So. Cal | Thanks for your help. I had to take the door panels off my other electric window car to figure it out. I had it in my head that they were front regulators, but now it makes sense. I am glad because I was missing the rears so these are the ones that belong to the car. I don't know why they are numbered differently than in the parts books. Sorry, I can't help you with your search.

Expert Posts: 3967 Location: DFW, TX | I recognized the power seat gearbox, and the power window interior panels. The little bracket there will go over a stud on the power window and regulator assembly, then a nut will tighten it all down. It will reinforce the entire assembly inside the quarter panel. These things are a bear to get at with the interior installed.

Expert 5K+ Posts: 9664 Location: So. Cal | Thanks. So that cover is only used on power window cars. Makes more sense now. Still haven't figured out that long metal strip and the cardboard-like cover. Edited by Powerflite 2019-01-21 4:47 PM
