hopefully this will slow the amount of total bullsh*t on craigslist.

I think Facebook marketplaces are hurting more.

Car sale sites are getting crushed though.

You're selling a car for thousands or even tens of thousands and you're complaining about a $5 fee to list to reach a global audience ? Really ???

Craigslist isn't very global. It's a pain to search every single city for something you are looking for. Other sites that search craigslist for you made it easier, but craigslist forced them to break up their searches into regions. It's not that easy to reach a global consumer as you say, unless I am missing something. But I agree that $5 isn't excessive. Hopefully it really does eliminate the frivolous & duplicate ads on there, but I tend to doubt it. They'll just find a way around it.

Almost overnight, you will get about 7-10. :o. If there are no cars for sale ????? Then what

to many dips**t used car sellers are using Craigslist bots now and finally craigslist is going to solve the problem.

That one moron has been posting his junkyard cars in every stupid city for months... and you get local corner lot car salesman posting all over the country or posting a 2005 Dodge with 1957 dodge in the desc...

good move Craigslist... make it 10$

I use Autotempest to search all Craigslist at once, and there is literally about a tenth of the results now as I used to get. Yes, it cuts down on scammers, and it certainly cuts down on people flooding the site with ads for the same car, but it seems to have killed off a lot of legitimate ads as well. Just goes to show we can't have nice things because there's always a few people out there ready to ruin it for the rest of us.

This video explains what's going on at CL well. What do you guys think will happen? Will CL survive the $5 charge or did it just self destruct? I https://youtu.be/acKFqKHH1Qo

I tried to list a car with the 5$ charge several times and craigslist would not accept my credit card.

To me, it seems that they have gotten money hungry.
