Veteran Posts: 141 Location: Chattanooga | It was possible to order the 2x4 383 Adventurer engine in every Desoto body style in 1959, and apparently there was an emblem somewhere on the body the indicated if a car was equipped with that engine. These emblems show up on eBay every so often, and I would like to know where the emblems were mounted. Does anyone have a picture of the emblem mounted on an actual car? Location: Parts Unknown | They were mounted on the fender, between the door and the wheel opening, about halfway between sidetrim and the bottom of the fender. I do not have a photo .... *sorry*

Location: Parts Unknown | Yes, the 59 Adventurer Powered badge is pretty underwhelming and degrades the swept-over look and appeal of the Fireflite and Firedome scripts. Firesweep did not have a "Firesweep" script on the front fender, so the "Adventurer Powered" badge was there by itself, on cars so equipped. I don't think any FL era badge was as dynamic as the Forward Look "darts". It has always been disappointing to me that this emblem saw such limited application. The non-300 emblem for fuel injection is another really dynamic design. (dealer award.jpg) Attachments ---------------- dealer award.jpg (52KB - 148 downloads)

While we are at it, how about the winged D500 emblem from 60 ? Or the "star" Dodge used for the 61 D500 ? I am very partial to the font style used on the 56 Dodge model designators. The 58 "New Yorker" script had an awesome styling too.

I liked it so much I put it on a 61 Desoto. Also love the 61 D-500 badge. (desoto10.jpg) Attachments ---------------- desoto10.jpg (57KB - 150 downloads)
