Car appears untouched. Anyone have any clues why a top line hardtop would have a certified speedo?


Pick one:

1. Sheriff J W Pepper wanted a cool and fast cop car so he ordered a 61 Fury with all the POHLESE options, including the certified speedo.

2. They ran out of uncertified speedos and it was late on Friday so they grabbed what they had, a certified speedo to get the car done and out the door before quitting time.

3. Somebody who owned the Fury was tired of people not believing how fast it would go, so he either a) ordered a certified speedo and installed it or b) he found a wrecked cop car in a wrecking yard and bought the certified speedo and installed it in his car so he could tell his "friends" to get it, hang on and STFU and watch.

Or....?

Location: Under the X in Texas		Over the last six decades, the original broke and a speedo repair shop offered the owner the Cert. Or some hobbyist found one in a junk yard and knew it would be cool in 2019 when you saw it in the car.

Could you post a pic of the speedo? I'm working on a 61 savoy dept of the navy car and would like to see what a cert speedo looks like.

I've always wondered what the difference is between a cert speedo and a standard one.?
Is it that they just hooked it up to a dyno and then put a sticker on it? Or
