I have just pulled the factory 3 speed (3 on the tree) transmission out of my 58 Sweptside D100 truck. I would like to give the tranny a full refresh but I know very little about these transmissions; in the shop manual it is simply referred to as a Standard 3 speed.
Can anyone suggest a good thread/website/book on how to go about refreshing this thing?

I have an original 58 dodge truck shop manual that covers the D100 Sweptside and a Fargo shop manual supplement. The info on the 3 speed is very general in the shop manual which is unusual; however it’s sucj a simple small transmission that it shouldn’t be too hard to sort out.

A parts manual will probably be more useful than a service manual. When you go looking for hard-to-find parts it helps to have the factory part numbers.
