Extreme Veteran Posts: 360 | What is the correct gas cap for a 57 imperial? I am open to locking and non locking style. Almost prefer a locking type now days but will settle for a regular stock replacement. Thanks!

Expert Posts: 2490 Location: Kansas City, KS | The 57-59 Imperial has a unique, tiny gas cap. Good luck fitting a locking cap in the hole Originals are outrageously priced if they can be found at all. Search eBay for "john deere pony gas cap" This is one of the first listings to show up https://www.ebay.com/itm/173919485832 It's virtually identical to the factory 57-59 Imperial cap except for the finger tabs on top

Extreme Veteran Posts: 360 | Autozone has this one as compatible https://www.autozone.com/fuel-delivery/fuel-cap/duralast-fuel-cap-60... but I have ordered 2 in the past off ebay that say compatible and they arent so asking here. Would the one listed by autozone fit? They give some dimensions of the filler neck 1.354 inches which I can't verify until the weekend. I may order that tractor cap, thanks for posting that KcImpeial

[edit] looks like xo-1908 is for a 67-68 Camaro ... But also others Mopar https://www.ebay.com/itm/57-58-59-60-61-62-63-64-Dodge-New-Locking-G... (but i didn't pay 150 $ ...) Elite Veteran Posts: 915 Location: Pau, S-W France | Ok but you'll have decimal inches and not fractionnal ! 33 mm = 1,29921 " 34,8 mm = 1,370079 " That what my calipers will display I've found this https://www.rapidtables.com/convert/length/mm-to-inch.html so 33 mm = 1 19/64 and 34,8 mm = 1 3/8 Magic !!! Extreme Veteran Posts: 360 | Yeah locking one from auto zone duralast 5092 is 1.36 inches. It does not fit in the neck. Im guessing the one you have Phil barely clears the neck to go in?
