New User Posts: 1 | I a Funeral Director and have been looking for something like this for a long time. It’s very solid and in good condition other than the paint is not great. I’m looking forwarded to finding out as much as I can on this car. Thank you. Wish I could figure out how to add pictures.

No jpegs from Apple iPhones. Has to be .jpg (no "e") 2. Must be sized to be < 250 kB. 1024 x 768 works. For more details, read this: http://www.forwardlook.net/forums/forums/thread-view.asp?tid=64340&... Expert Posts: 2308 Location: The Bat Cave, Fairborn, OH | If you go to the National DeSoto Club forum/group on Facebook, there are some more shots of this fine ambulance/herse combination. I attach a few here for the faithful as well. I don't know where it's been hidng for the last 60 years, but it seems to have been well cared for. Expert 5K+ Posts: 9900 Location: Lower Mainland BC | Powerflite - 2019-10-07 4:25 PM Yeah, these are usually made from Firesweeps. Apparently you are correct. Is that because all the 57-59 Wagons were based on the same 122" Dodge chassis regardless of Plymouth, Dodge, Desoto or Chrysler and since the Firesweeps were based on the Dodge chassis, it was a no brainer to work from a 58 Desoto Firesweep wagon to make this ambulance/hearse ?? Expert Posts: 1223 Location: Ramona, CA | Note that this was built from a sedan and not a wagon. You can see that the fins are the sedan fins that continue into the doors. Edited by NicksGarage 2019-10-09 11:39 AM

You can see that the fins are the sedan fins that continue into the doors. Hmm...Good catch. I was looking at the "C" pillar and noticed that it wasn't a wagon "C" pillar. *BUT* now that you've pointed out the fin extension, it seems like the hearse's goes almost the front door, like a Fireflite's, longer than the extension of the Firesweep. If we knew the wheelbase, we would know what they started with. Edited by 56D500boy 2019-10-09 11:59 AM
