Hi guys,

I'm working on my roomate's 62 Dodge Custom 880.

When I took the parking brake drum off the back of the trans so I'd be able to get the cable off and transmission out.

I had step by step pictures but my phone died and they got lost.

Does anyone have a factory break down I can look at?

I can see how the drum goes on and so on but I've got a spring that's about 3" in diameter and I cannot remember if it goes there, I'm pretty sure it does, and if show, where it goes.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

Wayne

IIRC you don't have the remove the drum in order to get the cable off.

1960fury, probably true, I didn't see how at the time. I've got a spring left over that I can't place where it came from. It's about a 3" diameter coil type spring. I thought that maybe it went with the parking brake assembly...maybe to keep the drum at a distance or something. I'll try to remember to take a picture of it and posted it here later today. Maybe someone will recognize it. The problem is that I started on the project about 2 years ago. I did my best to keep things organized but eventually I ran out of space to set sub assemblies and such. That darn spring may not have even come off this car to be honest. But it somehow got put with some of the pieces. I had some help here and there along the way so I didn't personally disassemble everything.

To make a long story short the project was supposed to be a, "pull the motor, freshen it up and drop it back in but blossomed into a massive undertaking.

Thanks,

Wayne
