After the small wheel that fits into the indicator housing and the plate that fits to the back of the steering wheel to make the horn work in a powersteer car. The parts I am after are in the box marked power steering and are the section numbers 8-33-118 and 8-33-121, The actual part numbers are on the bit of paper in the photo. Any help much appreciated.
Cheers Norm

Even if someone only had the piece in the picture Contact 8-33-118 part no 1604 921 for sale it would be a great help as I think if I had to, I could make the plate that fits to the underside of the steering wheel

Cheers Norm

1604921 is a black moulded piece of bakelite plastic with a brass springy contact in the center. Once they are installed in the potmetal switch, however, they are very difficult to remove without breaking the brittle plastic. Also, once the black wire separates from the back, it is difficult-to-impossible to repair. It's a bad design.

The good news is the same piece was used on all Mopars, 1955 thru 59. So you may get lucky with a parts car of that era.

This would be a good piece for someone to reproduce. Maybe Van's ?

The contact ring and cable is also very troublesome. The rubber insulator on these is thin, usually very brittle and falls apart if you touch it. You need to get one from a humid location like Florida or elsewhere on the East or South coast where the rubber is more likely to have survived well.

It's a little hard being picky about where your parts come from when you live down the bottom of the world lol It's obyiously hard enough to find someone selling them in the first place. If the parts are so crappy, has anyone come up with an alternative solution or is everybody driving their cars without horns

I had to purchase a new steering wheel that had a good contact in it. That was after I had spent a considerable amount of time to restore the other one. But if you are persistent, you may be able to find a contact with good rubber.
