Location: Lubbock, TX | That's one of mine. Selling a total of 7 cars at Mecum Indy. This one was restored by Dick Johnson back in 1996-97 and still looks beautiful today. Full disclosure, has a 1957 D-500 325ci Hemi, and not sure if it was a D500 originally. It's got some custom stuff on it like the carb/air-cleaner, tach, etc... that's the way it's been since it was finished.

Nice car. Only the IBM card would know for sure whether the car was originally a D500 (with the solid lifter 315 D500-nnnn engine). 325 hydraulic lifter isn't a bad thing. Just not OE factory.
What's up with the bend throttle pedal?

Location: Lubbock, TX | Just checked and that's actually a mod that Dick did back in 97 to get the right angle and pedal travel for the new engine and carburetor operation. I believe he just tweaked the internal metal piece in the pedal to get it right.

Location: North Australia | I have liked 56 Dodges for a long time. I have seen 2 of them in real life, and a bunch of pics. This one is is the best looking one I have seen. Love it. I wish I owned this car. Steve. |
