Hello Guys, I haven't logged in for far too long, with a new baby, new house, administering another club and new job I've been up to my eyes in it.

However, finally, after six years in the making, my 57/58 Plymouth Belvedere "Christine" is now parked safely in my garage.

Donnie Taylor started building her from a 57  Belvedere around 2007, early on in her build he was injured and she was burnt out when his workshop burned down.

The original car started out as a 57 Belvedere before the fire, supplied by BigM in California.

Thanks John Fowlie for supplying the great rust free car and for all your subsequent help and advice since (and in the future without doubt).

Donnie managed to salvage her but the workload he had and some more cars he took on was too much and as a result I knew my Plymouth would be many more years in the making, I couldn't wait that long, I'm getting too old.

Donnie still has people that have cars with him, progress is very slow and they are understandably frustrated but Donnie deserves recognition and thanks from me, for all the hours he put into my car.

However, I'd also like to say a massive thanks to my guardian Angel Clive Reeve.

Clive's an FL. moderator and a "sound egg".

Without him I'd have been b*gger**d.

Clive took receipt of my car last year (offering adivce as I shipped her over) and has been working on her since last summer to ensure she's safe for me to drive my young family around in.

He never took a dime for all the hours of work he put in for me.

Clive's about an hour and a half away from me, UK Gas prices allowing I hope we can get our cars together as often as possible.

THANKYOU FOR EVERYTHING AGAIN MATE!!!!

I'd like to thank everyone from ForwardLook.net and both Christine clubs for all the parts, advice and assistance given over the past 6 years.

I'm now living my life's dream.

As far as I know there are no 2 door HT Plymouths from 1958 in the UK at this present time (on the road).

Dean Kendal has recently moved to my Village, he has his 58 Silver Special and is also building a Christine Clone, as far as I know, in the near future Tiptree in South East England will house the only two cars of their kind in the UK.

Thanks again Clive and everyone:

Lee Day.

London.

England.

Wow!!! I too remember her when she first got to Donnie's, then the fire at Plymouth Rock Garage, we sent him some tools to help him get back on his feet... and the beginnings of the resurrection, and wondered what had happened to the car... congrats Lee!!

Thanks guys.

UK law is pretty strict with tinted windows, the level of tint we're allowed wouldn't look the part.

Hello guys.

A little update for anyone interested.

And another thanks to Clive for all he's done and did and another big cheers for Dean, both of whom have been a god send.

Can it really be 7 years ago I shipped my car over from Tennessee?

Also thanks again to John for the parts and trim he's sent over (and others on the "Christine" forums that have helped me out).

There's been such an enormous amount of water under the bridge since D.T. ripped me and so many others off after I commissioned him to build my car (that must have been about 12 years ago now).

I also gave D.T. money to rebuild a Ford pickup before they shipped him off to prison, I'll never see that pick up again.

Anyway, the last time I drove my Plymouth was about 3 years ago. She broke down in the entrance gates to a big local car show, it was most embarrassing having to be pushed onto the show ground field.

D.T. never fully rebuilt my engine before I managed to pull my car out of Tennessee, so I asked Dean to call by on my very slow and smoky return home, to give me advice.

Dean removed my 318 Poly and rebuilt her meticulously, however, Dean had several major personal problems at home and the decision was taken to ship my car up to his workshop so he could give her his full attention. My engine is now rebuilt and repainted and back in the car.

Dean collected a few final parts I still had last night in order to refit them.

I should be driving Christine soon, then I'll have to look into getting the cr*p paint job sorted that D.T. performed when I can get the money together.

I'll post some photos soon.

Thanks again guys.

Lee.

UK.
