Has anybody else been experiencing Autolite plugs that just stop firing?
In the last year I have probably replaced 3 spark plugs in two different cars that were not oil fouled or carbon fouled, they just stopped firing.
I have experienced this with pretty new spark plugs on two different Mopars, a 1967 Chrysler Newport and a 1957 Dodge Sierra.

What brand plugs are most folks using?

Thanks.

In the old days I had the best luck with Champions - on the drag strip and on the street. Not sure what the '57 Dodge called for but I bet your '67 Chrysler would be J14Y.

Old Champions always worked, but the new ones are known to have issues.

I had some problems with an Oldsmobile 58 that I mounted the J2 option with 3 2-barrel carbs. The electrodes opened up the gap in wot and had to be adjusted. I changed all the spark plugs to NGK Iridium ones and all problems were gone.

I have ordered NGK Iridium for my car, but they are still in transport somewhere in the virus infested world

I also put NGK iridiums in my Belevedere many years ago as the Autolites would foul within a couple of months. Never had a problem after that.

I always used Champions too and switched after reading about people complaining about issues and poor performance with them.

Strange thing is I've been running Autolites in my '58 Coronet with the flathead 6cyl. for 1000's of miles and never had one fail.

I have been considering using NGK's.

When I had my shop in the '80's and early '90's, it was Champions that gave us the most troubles, so we switched over to Autolite at the time, and no more defective plugs. Sounds like Autolite is having the same issues that Champion had a number of years ago.
