Does anyone know where to get the correct front and rear windscreen gasket for a D63 1956 Dodge Custom Royal 4 door sedan. My car has the stainless trim all around the front and rear windscreen.

I have looked at Steele Rubber, but their description of what I thought may be the correct front gasket #70-2300-50 notes""that this is for vehicles without reveal molding although there is a molding at the bottom"". The measurements for this gasket do match my front windscreen.

They do not seem to list a rear window rubber gasket.

If anyone has replaced theirs , or has solved this problem before I would appreciate their advice.

The 1864 is for standard moldings and the 1800 is for the extra wide molding on the top. You'll need to check if your Dodge has wide top moldings or not. The 2300 only has provisions for moldings at the bottom.

Thanks Powerflite. I have read the thread. Very confusing. Sounds like you used the "1800" gasket, but I can't find the complete part No listed for that in Steele catalogue. Can you confirm which gasket you found fitted, as my dimensions are the same as yours. Photo attached of my windscreen.

Still need info on a rear window gasket if anyone can help.

Steve: Based on your photo and knowing that my car (56 Dodge Custom Royal) has the wide stainless mouldings on the front windshield/screen, I would say your Australian RHD 56 Custom Royal also has the wide mouldings:

Location: So. Cal		Dave's picture does look like the wide molding. Mine doesn't go over the rain gutter. The 1864 gasket is the right one for mine. It looks like Steele has revised their descriptions since I last looked at it so it is better now. I don't know why the part numbers aren't showing up for your '56 Dodge. Just use '56 Plymouth instead and you'll see the part numbers for the rear window and all the front window options too. Dodge and Plymouth use the same gaskets depending on hardtop vs. sedan & molding options.
