This is my first post and my first Fowardlook car. I've owned and built so many cars in my life and career that I can't remember all of them now. For some reason, this car just peaked my interest. It was a red and white car that the previous owner had painted a cream color. It sat in a bodyshop for 22 years...so long that the owner passed away. His family had no interest or skills to repair what was done to the car so they decided to sell it. I just couldn't pass up the deal so here I am, a proud owner of a 58 Belvedere. It has some rust issues but not as bad as I had suspected.

Good Luck with the car but if the car sat for 22 years I would not trust the tires . I knew some one who took another make and model classic car out with real old tires he had a blow out and almost wrecked the car. I replaced the tires on my '61 fury because I did not trust the 1s that were on the car and they were pretty old . My dad used to be in the tire business.

The car came with 4 new wide white wall tires. We have already installed all the trim and bumpers. Every piece was there. Working on installing the glass now. Tried to start it but no spark. That is next. The previous owner messaged me and said he has a new set of rear leaf springs that I have to go get. Not sure what I'll do with it in the long run. It would be fun to drive for a bit. I really want to repaint it and fix it right.

Welcome to the Forward Look! It looks like you stumbled across a nice, easy project. That's pretty rare for these cars!

What's wrong with the paint? It looks pretty sharp in your picture.

I've done body/paint work for 36 years, so I'm critical LOL. There are small dents that were not fixed, sanding marks all over, poor body work, some runs etc. It is a Maaco special Sherwin Williams enamel paint job. The shop didn't put much effort into it, but it probably helped preserve the car.
