I wonder why anyone would advertise a car this way. Sparse description, one photo. Hes asking $39,000 for a car,but can’t be bothered to add detailed photos showing key areas of interest and a more detailed description. Wouldn’t it be more work to have to email photos to everyone who contacts you?

Just based on the single image - that looks pretty darn good.  I don't know much about prices anymore, but I've seen '58 Dodge two door hardtops offered for the same price and I know one of them sold.  I love '58 Dodges, but my sense is that a 1957 Adventurer is worth more than a '58 Dodge two door hardtop in similar condition, any day of the week, no matter what, no questions asked.  Even a Regal?  Yeah (and you know I do love Regals), probably so.  Even a Super D Regal?  Now we got a serious debate.

If I lived anywhere near it, I would check it out for sure.  Ed Petrus may even have a big thick ol' file on it!

Based on what I can tell by the one picture, my thought would be a $75K to $80K asking price. When I worked for Bob Schmidt restoring these cars, they
were well over $100K for a ground up/rotisserie restoration.

I did send the seller a message, but so far no reply. It's certainly possible, even very probable, that I know the car and have lots of information on it. Until I can find out who the seller is, or get the car's VIN or something, though, I can't be sure "which" car it is. That's the one drawback about '57 Adventurers -- there were so few color choices that many cars look alike. Usually, I can determine which car is which by options, condition, location, etc., but I'm not sure about this one. If I hear from the seller, I'll post the information here, probably with additional photos from my files.

I also would be interested in its history, it has the deeper gold hubcaps which is unusal. I bought Bill Adams Adventurer last year and it also sported the darker gold caps.

I'm wondering (but not making the accusation!) if this is a scam. Has anyone heard from the seller? Maybe that's why the description is so poor, the lack of photos, and the price looks enticing. I've not heard back from him at all. Not a peep.

I spoke to the owner. He said its the one that was listed in Hemmings about 8 months ago. He says it could use a paint job. He was suppose to send me pictures but I'm still waiting.

Maybe it's the one? The price seems consistent, as does the timestamp (10 months ago). But pictures were linked to the ad, and the ad deleted, so no more picture.

Just checked again and the seller has added more photos to the listing showing the interior and engine. Looks very nice. It has power windows too!

Price probably fair, needs a dash pad, engine compt. detailing. The upholstery fabric is close but not correct. The vinyl sections look to be original.
