Or perhaps as early as February 1, 1956 (depending on the VIN)

I am not clear what you are saying. The majority of the article is about the initial installations of Torqueflites in the Imperials, then the Chryslers, then the odd Desoto with some suggestion (unproven in my mind) that some 56 Dodges got TFs before they left the factory, not withstanding Per E's 56 Dodge that has a Torqueflite (but whose IBM card says 333 = Powerflite).
