This is mine:

http://ebay.us/jtUoG5?cmpnId=5338273189

The deal I made with Mrs. Bob was that this one would be sold to pay for the 440 with cross rams and all the other work I recently had done on my 61 Chrysler.

I have more photos and 2 videos I could not get posted on eBay. PM me your cell # and I'll send them to you.

It's a beauty alright. Dad had one (4 door HT) like this only black with Aqua instead of white. I don't recall the model it was but I do remember the fender skirts (ugh).

Good luck with your sale.

That's really a beautiful car. Still running great after 65 years. That's something isn't it.

Nice car and colors! The interior fabrics are awesome and always have preferred these model without grille "teeth". Also actually quite authentic with the usual factory original funky door cut-lines and door bottom edge/rocker alignment, not a strong point in '57, especially on 4 dr hardtops..

Agree with the no teeth = better looking. Cleaner. 58's were worse. (IMO)

I think the rockers have been Bondo'd and not very well done.

I’m actually surprised to learn so many people don’t like the “teeth”. I personally love them and think they make the front end look much cooler and more aggressive. The bumper “teeth” are to these Dodges what the bumper wings are to the 57-58 Plymouth’s.

This is a beautiful car though, with or without the teeth.

The Plymouth bumper wings are a nice addition to the sculpted flow of the car and really add to it's appeal, similar to the standard front bumper wings on the '58-'59 New Yorker. But the '57-'58 Dodge front teeth just ruin the otherwise clean lines on the front of the car. They really do look much better without them IMO, and I don't see them as making the car more aggressive, just more gaudy. I'm sure that some people do prefer the way the car looks with them, but I am also sure that many people just like them because they like to add every possible doo-dad to their car just for a weird sense of personal pride, The same type of people that must have a continental kit & wheel skirts on every car they own. The vast majority of the people that have got to have every single piece of spring special treatment on their '58 Dodge fall into this category too. There isn't a single piece of that stuff that actually makes the car look better. Just more gaudy crap to add to your car. Even though that's my opinion, I find it really hard to believe that a whole lot of people actually think the car looks better with every single piece of that stuff attached to it.

“Powerflite”,
Well,I certainly don’t fall into the catergory you mentioned. I’ve been pretty open about my dislike for fender skirts continental kits and the like. Every time I see a forward look posted with them I cringe and think “why?”.
I also don’t like the “flight sweep” toilet seat fake spare tire covers that were on the 59-60 Plymouth’s and other forward looks. I think those are gaudy and detract from the clean lines of the car.

I actually agree with most of what you said here, except I do like the grille “teeth” ,and I feel they made the car look more agressive. But I do respect your opinion and the fact some others don’t like them. We all have different tastes, that’s why these cars came in different colors. In fact if anyone wants to donate their ugly dodge teeth I’d be happy to save them in case I ever get a 57 dodge again one day.

Yeah, I can respect your liking for them, as many people do genuinely like them, but there is another camp of people that I really don't understand. If I happen to run across any loose teeth lying around, I'll send them your way.

A guy was telling me it's too bad my '60 New Yorker didn't come with the toilet seat on the back of it, and that he may know where I could score one. He seemed puzzled at my complete lack of interest. I really like the unique trim on the New Yorker. One of the reasons I bought the upper level car and I wouldn't swap it out for a toilet seat for anything.

Beautiful New Yorker! Boy,you sure have some great cars! I agree, these cars look infinitely better without the toilet seat. You’re lucky to have found one without it. DeSoto buyers were luckier, there was no such trunk lid option. So any 1960 DeSoto is going to have a nice sleek, clean decklid.

Between the DeSoto and the Chrysler with no toilet seat,I think I’d choose the Chrysler because if it’s boomerang tail lights and the astrodome cluster, but it’s very close between the two

Grille teeth aside,I personally prefer the front end design of the 1957 Dodges. The 58 with the grille has a busier more cluttered appearance.

HEY - please stop hijacking my thread!

I got a message today from the prior owner of the Dodge, who replaced the rocker covers. Appears the 35K miles on the car are indeed original!! Read below:

New message: I just wanted to tell you I owned you...

New message from: davetodd (424Turquoise Star)
I just wanted to tell you I owned your car for many years before selling it to a man that claimed he was buying it for placement in a museum. I know the car well and the mileage is accurate. I do notice a few upgrades which do help its appearance. The spinner wheel covers and the trunk sprayed to cover the rusted areas are what I notice. I installed the rocker panel covers and the ripples were on the metal when they were shipped to me. I still have some of the grey printed fabric that I used to repair the front seat. If you look, the floor under the driver foot area has diamond steel plate used as patch material. The car (Betsy) was part of our wedding over 30 years ago. I used to pull our Master Craft ski boat behind it. It was a great driver and newer let us down. I know this info is probably is probably falling on deaf ears but seeing it again inspired me to add more info for you. I live in Bloomfield Hills, Michigan and she was always garaged when we had her. Find her a good home. She is too expensive for me now. Dave Todd

Sorry to chime in so late but isn't the body code 2179 for a Coronet 4 dr hardtop, not a Royal 4 dr hardtop?
