Subject: 59 New Yorker rear axle inner oil seal

Hi everyone,

Does anyone have any tips or tricks for driving the inner oil seals into the rear axle? For the life of me I can't get mine to go in straight. I've been at it with a seal driver for hours now and it just won't go in. It almost makes me wonder if it isn't slightly too big, but it seems to be identical to the one I pulled out. Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Location: So. Cal		I use a little bit of silicone on the outside edge to help lubricate & seal it as well.
